This would fall in to the clean water flooding category. It is necessary only to have the carpet dried – both front and back by a professional cleaner with the proper equipment. We recommend a deep clean when you carpet has dried due to a process called wicking. Any time there is flooding certain areas of you warranty may be affected, you should refer to your warranty information to see what may be affected.
This is common with new carpet and is called shedding. The loose fiber is easily removed. This removal process normally takes place through regular vacuuming and in no way affects the carpet quality. This will diminish over time.
Determining if the dent is in the face fibers will determine if they can be removed. Simple gently fluffing the fibers will help some. Quite often the dent is in the latex backing and time and frequent vacuuming will solve your problem. Note Dents in a Polypropylene (olefin) carpet are more often crushed pile and are less likely to be restored to its original state.
Don’t panic! Cut the long thread and keep it. Go to you craft room and get you hot glue gun. Very carefully glue the fibers back in the grove being careful with the HOT GLUE.
Don’t worry your carpet isn’t growing. With cut pile carpet, small tufts or sprouts can stick up above the surface. Don’t pull them; just clip them off with scissors.
Unprotected carpets stain permanently soil quickly, and wear prematurely and void your warranties.
